Activities
Here we present the group's main permanent activities.
VIMAC Laboratory
Virtual Laboratory for Innovation in Modelling Architecture and the City (VIMAC) is a technological benchmark at the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB) of the UPC. Born as an evolution of the former Virtual City Modelling Laboratory (LMVC), VIMAC develops technological innovation projects in fields such as architecture, heritage and urban planning using cutting‑edge technologies, including geoinformation systems, digital cartography, topography, terrestrial laser scanner and photogrammetry.
Its work materialises in the production of maps, plans, 3D models and interactive applications and it has extensive experience in documenting unique buildings and historic urban areas. In this section you can explore its research activities, such as conferences, doctoral theses and innovation projects.
ACE Journal
ACE: Architecture, City and Environment (also known as ACE: Architecture, City and Environment) is the scientific journal of the CPSV. It is an interdisciplinary, open‑access, peer‑reviewed platform dedicated to disseminating advanced research in fields ranging from architectural heritage and urban studies to sustainability, mobility and virtual representation of the city.
In this section you can consult the published issues and learn about its important achievements, such as being indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (Web of Science), SCOPUS and having received the FECYT 2025 Quality Seal, which includes a mention of its good editorial practices in gender equality.
CTV Conference
The International Conference on Virtual City and Territory (CTV) is an emblematic event with a long history. Conceived in 2004 by the CPSV, the CTV was born as a meeting point to present advances in virtual models and representation tools for the built environment. Over its successive editions, held alternately in Europe and Latin America, it has incorporated various social themes, always having an impact on territorial and urban areas.
Here you will find the papers presented in its successive editions, which guarantee immediate and free open access, offering a valuable perspective on the evolution of urban and territorial thought in the Ibero‑American context.
